Trailer hitch ball mount features an angle cut, allowing it to slide easily into the receiver tube.
Question:
I need help with a ball mount. I have a 94 suburban 2500. I purchased a 28 ft deck boat that weighs approx 8000lbs with fuel. I'm assuming I will need a 4 inch? I know the ball size is 2 5/16 . What mount can I buy and have no issues if its not a 4 that I need? Or do you know what I will need on such a vehicle?

I would recommend measuring for the correct rise or . This is very easy to do. Simply measure from the TOP of your receiver to the ground, then with the trailer jacked in position so that it is level, measure from the BOTTOM of the coupler to the ground. The difference between these two measurements would be the rise/ needed. You will want to choose the ball mount that would place your trailer as close to level as possible. You will want to choose a ballmount with a capacity of 8000 lbs or greater, whose hole matches the diameter of the shank on the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball you are using.

Question:
Renting a cargo trailer soon. standard home moving job. Will be towing with a 1999 chevy tahoe, factory hitch. I believe it is a two inch receiver. What equipment will best fit my configuration? I need the ballmount ,pin and ball. All advice will be helpful.

Without knowing the height of the receiver on your Tahoe, or the size ball that will be on your rental trailer, all I can suggest is the most common drawbar/ ball size. The part # 2923 ballmount offers a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop. The 2" trailer ball is the most common size, with the part # 19247 being our most popular. The average height of a trailer coupler is around 17 inches, so you'll want a ballmount that will put your trailer ball somewhere around that height.

Question:
Please recommend ballmount and ball for 2005 Honda Odyssey for common trailer towing. to fit 2x2 hitch part # 75270
asked by: Dale
Reply:
The specific answer to your question will depend on the trailer that you are planning to tow. The average trailer coupler height is 17". Therefore, you will need a ballmount with sufficient rise or drop to place your trailer ball at that level (or whatever height the trailer coupler will be at when it is level). The ball size will be dictated by the size coupler on your trailer. This being said, most popular ballmount we sell is the 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop Ballmount. The typical trailer hitch ball size is the 2".

Question:
I have a 2009 Chev Traverse and my drawbars which worked fine on my Tahoe will not work on the Traverse in the ball mount position. Your #2923 which you recommend for the Traverse looks the same in the picture, but cant tell for sure. The problem is that the pin hole in the receiver is 4.75 inches from the bumper and license plate face and mounted tight underneath the bumper, providing no clearance for any projection/weld of the ball mount.

I went out to the warehouse and measured ball mount 2923. It is 4.75 inches from the pin hole to the weld. We do have drawbars that could clear the bumper and license plate face. For example, drawbar 2736 is 7 inches from the pin hole to the weld. This may give you the clearance you need. It is a different design and a capacity of 5,000 lbs, but can get the job done for you. I have included a link to it below.

Does this model Hitch 75432 fits for any univeral bike rack or needs to have a specific.

Reply:
You can use any hitch-mounted bike rack with a 2-inch hitch opening with Draw-Tite hitch 75432, however, if you have a door-mounted spare tire, make sure that you have clearance for a bike rack. I have included a link below to the 2-inch hitch-mounted bike rack that will fit with this hitch.

Question:
I town three cars that are older. 1998 mercury Grand Marquis, 1990 Ford Taurus and a 2002 Ford Escape. My boat and trailer and engine weigh 1800 pounds. Can I install the Draw-Tite 75118 to either or both of the Mercury and the Taurus?
asked by: John
Reply:
Part # 75118 will only fit a 2001-2004 Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute. It is not swappable onto a 1990 Taurus or 1998 Grand Marquis. The best hitch we have for towing a boat with your 1998 Mercurcy Grand Marquis is a Class III hitch, part # 13707. The strongest hitch available for a 1990 Ford Taurus is a Class II. Our most popular Class II for your vehicle is part # 36252. Please note, Class I and II are 1-1/4 inch receiver openings.

Question:
Will this item work on my 09 VW toureg?
asked by: Ryan
Reply:
Yes, the Ball Mount 3/4 inch Rise or 2 inch Drop, 6,000 lbs, item # 2923, is the recommended ball mount for your 2009 Volkswagen Toureg. The best way to determine the correct ball mount for your vehicle and trailer combination is to measure from the ground to the top of the receiver tube on the vehicle, and from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler, with the trailer level. If the hitch height is greater you will need a ball mount with a drop equal to the difference and if the trailer coupler height is greater you will need a ball mount with a rise equal to the difference. You will also need to make sure the ball mount selected has a weight rating high enough for the trailer you will be towing. Some items you may also need are listed below. Hitch Ball # 19260 or 19247 Pin and Clip # PC3 Hitch Lock # TR100

Question:
Can you give me recommendations for wiring harness, ball mount, lock, and ball to tow a boat for salt water usage? I do not want to splice any wires in my car b/c it voids my warranty. Thanks and Im sorry for emailing twice with similar question.
asked by: Binh
Reply:
For a 2010 Honda Pilot, you would use T-One Wiring harness, part # 118491. There is no cutting or splicing involved, it just connects to the factory tail light connectors. With exposure to salt-water, I would stick with aluminum or stainless steel for your other products as they will hold up the best. I assume you have a 2 inch hitch receiver, so I would use part # TR100. It is a stainless steel hitch lock with a limited lifetime warranty. The drawbar and ball you need will depend on the trailer height and coupler size. I have included a page that will show you how to determine what size ball mount you need. I would choose an aluminum ball mount, probably some thing like part # DTBM5200. I will include a link to all our 2 inch Aluminum ball mounts so you can find the one that will fit once you measure your coupler and hitch. Once you have selected a ball mount, you will need to select a ball. The ball diameter is determined by the coupler on the trailer. You will also need to find out what shank diameter your ball mount will accept. The hole for the ball will either be 3/4 or 1 inch. I imagine it will be a 2 inch ball diameter, and again, I would use stainless steel, like part # 63852. I have included a help page on selecting a hitch ball. If you write back with the height measurements of your trailer and hitch as outlined in the page below, and what size ball the coupler uses, I can recommend specific parts that will work for you.

Question:
1999 ML 320 I going to rent a trailer, 5X8 What hitch parts will I need to satisfy the trailer rental place?
asked by: David
Reply:
If your Mercedes does not currently have a hitch, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch, part # 75087. You will also need to wire the vehicle for towing, using the Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, part # 119176. Finally, you will need a draw bar, a trailer ball, and a pin and clip to hold the draw bar in the receiver. The part # 2923 draw bar would be a good choice. You will need to consult with the trailer rental place to determine what trailer ball size you will need, it will either be 1-7/8 or a 2 inch. The pin and clip is part # PC3.
